July Announcements

Hi Everyone! There is a lot going on this month so I wanted to get it all down in one place so you can refer to this article as needed. I’ve had quite The Tower moment in my life at the end of June.

I found out June 28th that I lost my job of 3 years with a health tech company. For those of you that don’t know, I do digital marketing, demand generation and lifecycle marketing operations for my full time job. I’ve been in marketing for 20+ years and I do love it.

I decided in 2021 that I needed a change. I found myself working for the same type of businesses and I just wanted to get off the wheel as much as I could. I took a large pay cut to move to the company that just let me go. And I started Kalahari Crystals in the beginning of 2022. I’ve been trying my hardest to make it a success. I’ve learned so much about myself and business and crystals. I’ve found an amazing community of people that have supported me all the way. And I’m soooooo grateful.

I moved into 1192 US Route 4, Canaan, NH in August of 2023. I signed a one year lease. I’ve been struggling to keep the shop open let alone make money (using a lot of my salaried money). So on June 28th when my landlord texted me to ask what my plans were because she had an interested party (right after I’d been let go), I decided it was time to re-evaluate again.

I never wanted to become a full retail shop. I do marketing and everything I’ve learned is online. I wanted to sell my products on my website and social media so I would have a bit more freedom with where life takes me. But I’ve found such a dear local community here and wanted to give them a space to touch, feel and purchase locally. How can I do both?? Well, you’ll all be happy that I figured it out. And I want to announce a fantastic opportunity with Faye’s Apothecary in Lebanon, NH. The shop is open Sundays & Tuesdays 10-4, Thursday - Saturday 11-6.

Faye and I started talking a few weeks ago and discovered we have a lot in common but have different passions when it comes to the products we sell, so it’s a great fit. Starting in August I will become a vendor at Faye’s Apothecary. Don’t worry - most of my inventory will be there. And what isn’t - you’ll still be able to see and purchase from my lives which will be back to my basement. Full circle moment right there. I will very much miss my shop, my landlord and my wonderful co-tenants.

Okay - so how am I preparing?

  • The Sale! 20% off items over $20 (excluding jewelry and already marked down items). This will run the entire month of July. I’ll be moving inventory around and starting to pack up some for my basement before the end of the month so be sure you come in early and often to take advantage.

  • I’ll be using the month of July to label and take videos/pictures of all my products for the transition. Videos and pictures will be for here - the non-used website :) But soon you’ll be able to purchase from here. The labels are for Faye’s since I won’t be around to tell you what each stone is. And figuring out how much can go to Faye’s and what will go in my basement.

  • Since I’ll be in the shop every day for July I figured I might as well open the doors!

    • New shop hours starting July 7th are as follows:

      • Sundays 10-4

      • Starting July 9th (a Tuesday): Monday - Wednesday 11-5

  • A giveaway - I used to do these every month but got out of the habit when my full time job got to be a lot. This month I’m giving away a red, white and blue tower to celebrate the country’s birthday. You can earn points the following ways:

    • 50 points for every $100 spent

    • 20 points for a Live visit (make sure you remind me to note it)

    • 10 points for a post share to your stories

    • 5 points for a tag

I’m really excited for this new transition. I know this will help me become more aligned with my higher self and also give you more opportunity to purchase my stuff locally. And FYI - I’m going to try to make this my full time gig. Wish me luck! But also thank you all for your crazy amount of support with Kalahari Crystals so far!! I wouldn’t even be here right now without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
